Benefit from the vitamin-rich flax seeds to get refreshing, hydrating and nourishing skin by applying this gentle, skin-tightening, moisturizing homemade facemask for oil-free skin. Enjoy a soft and smooth skin as this can be used for all skin types.
YIELDS: 3–4 masks
- 1 cup water
- 2 drops chamomile essential oil
- ¼ cup flaxseeds
You may need: Air tight container, saucepan, mixing bowl, wire whisk, tea strainer.

1. To Make:
Pour water and add flaxseeds in a pan. Keep on a medium heat and stir occasionally to avoid sticking of seeds to the pan. Once the mixture starts to boil, stir continuously and gently. Turndown the heat to low when the mixture starts to thicken and keep stirring until the seeds starts floating in the liquid instead of drowning to the bottom of the pan. Cut off the flame and strain liquid in to a mixing bowl, discarding seeds. Now, add the chamomile essential oil and blend well with the whisk. Allow the mixture to completely cool before using.
2. To Store: Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week. This mask is best fresh.
3. To Use: Take sufficient amount in to the hands and spread a medium thick layer of the mask onto clean and washed skin. Leave it on skin for 10–15 minutes and rinse off with luke-warm water. Follow with toner and moisturizer to get oil free skin.
